Around 4:15 p.m. on September 17, the Rocky Mountain House RCMP, EMS, fire crews, and Search and Rescue responded to calls of a vehicle in the lake.
Officials believe the car was heading west on Highway 11 and left the road, landing in the lake.

Witnesses tried to get into the vehicle but, since it was completely under water, they couldn’t.
A RCMP dive team removed the car from the lake and found the 22-year-old driver dead inside.
His name is not being released until his family is notified.
Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or events leading up to the crash to call the Rocky Mountain House RCMP detachment.
Abraham Lake is about 80 kilometres west of Red Deer.
