New trails planned for Meewasin Valley

New trails planned for Meewasin Valley - image

A plan is in the works to add close to 40 km of new trails along the banks of the South Saskatchewan River. 

The Meewasin Valley Authority wants to connect Wanuskewin Heritage Park and Whitecap Dakota First Nation to the existing system of trails.

It would cost an estimated 16.3-million dollars. 

The MVA would like to see this happen within five year as part of the Trans-Canada trail program. 

The goal of the Trans-Canada trail program is to connect the east coast to the west coast to the arctic coast.
