Vehicle clocked 56 km/h over speed limit in Sask. school zone

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – Only 10 days after Prince Albert police once again started enforcing school zones, 119 speeding tickets have been issued.

One driver was clocked at 56 km/h over the posted limit in a school zone. The motorist’s vehicle was seized in accordance with new Saskatchewan traffic laws.

Since the beginning of September, drivers in Prince Albert are required to slow down to 30 km/hr near schools.

Tickets issued under the city bylaw start at $210.

Prince Albert police are reminding drivers that speed restrictions in school zones will continue to be enforced until the end of June.
