HALIFAX – Halifax police are warning businesses to watch out for phoney American bills.
There have been at least 10 reported cases since last Wednesday of a shopper paying for a purchase using counterfeit $50 bills.

Police say the fake 50s were used to buy several thousand dollars worth of merchandise from a number of businesses in different shopping areas.
It’s believed the incidents are connected.
