TORONTO – Tickets for next year’s Pan Am Games — including the opening ceremony, a one-night-only show by Cirque du Soleil — go on sale this morning.

Sports fans can request tickets to watch 41 countries from the Americas and the Caribbean fight for the gold in Toronto and other Ontario communities by going on the Toronto2015.org website at 10 a.m. through Oct. 6.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Organizers will then gauge interest in each event and when more tickets are requested than there are available, the sales will be done through a lottery system similar to what’s used at the Olympic Games.
