VANCOUVER – There are reports shots were fired at the Terry Fox Run in Port Coquitlam, B.C., the hometown of the Fox family.
Police are calling it a “high risk” incident involving a home invasion.
It happened around 10:15 a.m. Sunday morning. Unconfirmed reports suggest one of the homes in the area was raided by armed suspects.
It appears one person was hurt.

“Police had their guns drawn and they were running in and out of different yards looking for somebody. It looks like they are still looking for somebody,” said one witness.
Organizers say up to three thousand people were expected to show up for the run in the area, but all participants are safe.
They say the hope is the incident will not overshadow the rest of today’s run.
