Three people have been taken to hospital, including one with serious injuries, after a house fire in south Vancouver.
Flames broke out around 11 p.m. last night on East 50th Avenue between Prince Albert and Windsor Street.
Crews say the fire caused extensive damage.
Investigators will be back at the scene later this morning and stress it’s too early to say whether the fire could be linked to a series of targeted arsons in the area in recent weeks.
Battalion Chief Ted Kadagies with Vancouver Fire & Rescue told Global News the fire started at the rear of the building.
“It was fully involved when the crews showed up,” says Kadagies.
He says the fire was knocked down quickly, preventing further damage.
The victims were taken to VGH with smoke inhalation and burns.
