RCMP searching for suspect in abduction southwest of Ponoka

PONOKA – RCMP are looking for a suspect linked to an abduction in southwest Ponoka.

Around 9:00 a.m. Thursday morning police say an adult male was abducted from his rural home by a man with a gun.

The suspect forced the man into a vehicle, drove to a bank in Lacombe, and tried to get the victim to withdraw money.

The victim escaped while the suspect was inside the bank.

The offender is described as 6’ tall with a slender build, a white moustache and goatee.

He was seen leaving the bank in a newer silver four-door Chevrolet pick-up truck.

Police believe this is a targeted attack.
