He’s also promising to deliver a balanced budget in six years and create 10,000 jobs over four years, including 5,000 in the first year he’s elected.
Gallant says spending $900 million on infrastructure like roads and bridges would help achieve that goal.

Green Party: Fair share forestry
Leader of the Green Party, David Coon was at the Maritime Fibre & Energy mill in Fredericton, announcing his plan to sustain the forestry sector.
Coon called his plan a ‘fair share’ approach, promising to immediately enact legislation to cancel all contracts signed with forestry companies. He also pledged to restore the status of private woodlots as the primary source for big companies and said he’d create Community Forest Licences for those adjacent to and within First Nations and municipalities.
People’s Alliance: Herbicide spraying
People’s Alliance of New Brunswick leader Kris Austin said if elected, he’ll create over 1,000 thinning and bushsaw operator jobs by banning herbicide spraying.
Austin said too many people are worried about the impacts herbicide spraying has on human, wildlife and the environment’s health. He would move the $13-million investment towards the new jobs.
