He also said the Mead had been shot to death.
His body was found June 27 inside an apartment at 5529
Bilby St., but he had already been dead for three or four weeks.
Police say neighbours found Mead’s body after going to check on his whereabouts,
after reportedly seeing an unusual amount of flies around the apartment.
Police also found a dead dog inside Mead’s apartment, but a
necropsy later determined the dog died of natural causes.
Lane said he hopes the charges laid against Beaver will return a sense of security to those living in the neighbourhood and closure to Mead’s family.
Insp. Ken Goodine says some members of the public came forward and provided information that was “essential” to the case.
