Bear spotted near southwest Calgary neighbourhoods

CALGARY- There are renewed warnings about bears roaming around parts of southwest Calgary, after another one of the animals was spotted on Wednesday.

A wildlife officer with the Tsuu T’ina First Nation says a black bear was seen around noon, at the gas station at 37 Street and Anderson Road. The band plans to work with Sustainable Resources to ensure the bear is moved away from homes, sometime in the next couple of days.

As a result of the sighting, residents of Woodbine, Cedarbrae and Oakridge are urged to be on the lookout for bears.
