SAINT JOHN, N.B. – Five people are living in emergency lodgings today after a fire Saturday afternoon at a small motel that provides short- and long-term room rentals in Saint John.
The Canadian Red Cross says in a news release that volunteers have arranged for shelter and food for a couple and their teenaged son.

A man in his 60s was also forced out of his home, along with a fifth tenant.
The fire at the King’s Motel at 1121 Manawagonish Road was reported at about 3 p.m.
Firefighters said they haven’t determined the cause of the blaze.
