Education: McGuinty earned a bachelor of science from McMaster University and a law degree at the University of Ottawa.

Politics: He was first elected to the Ontario legislature in 1990 to represent Ottawa-South, and was elected Liberal Party leader in 1996. He was elected premier in October 2003 and re-elected in October 2007.
