BEDFORD, N.S. – Allnorth Consultants Limited, a Bedford, N.S.-based firm has acquired Axxent Engineering Ltd., an engineering firm with projects in the mining and forestry sectors in British Columbia, the Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia and Mexico.

Financial terms of the deal, announced early Tuesday, were not revealed.
Axxent, a five-year-old company, has about 45 employees.
Allnorth said the transaction gives the company fully integrated engineering and technical services in areas ranging from mechanical and civil engineering to environmental planning, capital cost estimating as well as project and construction management.
