Police did not give chase due to safety concerns but watched the motorcycle slow down in traffic and then accelerate before exiting Circle Drive to head south on Clarence Avenue.

At that point the driver lost control of the bike and crashed into a light standard, starting a fire.

The 21-year-old driver was rushed to Royal University Hospital with unknown injuries.

There is no word on his current condition.
