One dead, 11 injured in Toronto bus crash

TORONTO – A woman in her 40s is dead and as many as 11 other people are injured after a TTC bus collided with a crane.

The collision happened on Lawrence Avenue just east of the Don Valley Parkway as the afternoon rush hour began.

Emergency workers are on the scene and Lawrence Avenue is closed between Victoria Park and Don Mills.

All ramps from Lawrence to the Don Valley Parkway are also closed.

Up to 11 people have been taken to hospital after the collision around 2:45 p.m. at Lawrence and Railside Road.

The eastbound and westbound lanes of Lawrence Avenue are closed from Victoria Park to Don Mills as police investigate.
