‘Texas Chain Saw Massacre’ star Marilyn Burns dies at 65

TORONTO — The woman who survived Leatherface’s killing spree died Tuesday.

Marilyn Burns, who played Sally Hardesty in 1974’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, was 65.

Her body was found by a family member at her home near Houston. A cause of death has not yet been released.

Burns played Manson family member Linda Kasabian in the 1976 TV movie Helter Skelter and reteamed with Texas Chain Saw Massacre director Tobe Hooper for 1977’s Eaten Alive.

Burns made cameos in 1994’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation and last year’s Texas Chainsaw 3D.

She recently completed work in the drama In a Madman’s World.
