NAKUSP, B.C. – A 52-year-old Nakusp woman was killed after rolling her car off of Highway 6, Sunday morning.

Police say the SUV went off the highway and rolled with the woman and her 15 year old daughter inside, 41km east of Lumby.

The daughter was taken to Vernon Jubilee hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Both occupants were wearing seatbelts said police, however the 52 year-old may have not been wearing hers correctly, choosing to wrap the shoulder belt under her arm.

Police say speed appears to be a factor.

The crash is currently under investigation by the B.C. Coroner’s Service and RCMP.
