CALGARY – A new program offered by the Mustard Seed in Calgary is sure to bring a smile to more faces.
The organization is opening a free dental clinic for its homeless clients.
Steven Lott was one of the first clients at the new clinic. Formally homeless, his teeth were so bad he couldn’t eat solid food.

“I couldn’t chew a thing. I was on a liquid diet for multiple weeks on end!”
Now, that’s all about the change.
“From what I’ve been told I’ll be able to go the whole way and eat again or chew,” says Steven.
Director of Support Services at the Mustard Seed, Cliff Wiebe, hopes cleaning up smiles will help Calgary’s homeless get their lives back on track.
“We believe something like this is directly linked to getting a job. They look better, they feel better, they’re not in pain.”
The clinic is being paid for by anonymous donors. It officially opens Monday.
