On Friday, results of the HST referendum were released.

Residents answered the following question in the referendum:

Are you in favour of extinguishing the HST (harmonized sales tax) and reinstating the PST (provincial sales tax) in conjunction with the GST (goods and services tax)?

54.73% of valid votes voted YES.

45.27% of valid votes voted NO.

In Boundary-Similkameen, 59.48% voted YES and 40.52% voted NO.

In Kelowna-Lake Country, 46.90% voted YES and 53.10% voted NO.

In Kelowna-Mission, 44.42% voted YES and 55.58% voted NO.

In Penticton, 50.49% voted YES and 49.51% voted NO.

 

In Shuswap, 49.84% voted YES and 50.16% voted NO.

In Vernon-Monashee, 50.92% voted YES and 49.08% voted NO.

In Westside-Kelowna, 46.30% voted YES and 53.70% voted NO.
