Yamana Gold Inc. (TSX:YRI). Miner. Down 41 cents, or 2.70 per cent, at $14.76 on 7,781,187 shares.

Sino-Forest Corp. (TSX:TRE). Forestry. Up 57 cents, or 12.58 per cent, at $5.10 on 5,842,462 shares.

Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX:SU). Oil and gas. Up 18 cents, or 0.6 per cent, at $30.28 on 5,225,770 shares.

Breakwater Resources Ltd. (TSX:BWR). Miner. Up three cents, or 0.43 per cent, at $7 on 5,212,804 shares.

ArPetrol Ltd. (TSXV:RPT). Petroleum and natural gas exploration. Unchanged at nine cents on 3,946,600 shares.

Waymar Resources Ltd. (TSXV:WYM). Mining and exploration. Down three cents, or six per cent, at 47 cents on 2,982,100 shares.

Research In Motion Ltd. (TSX:RIM). Mobile developer. Up $1.07, or 3.94 per cent, at $28.25 on 3,620,242 shares. The company helped lift the TSX after Bloomberg reported that the company is preparing a future slate of handsets to run apps designed for the Android mobile operating system designed by Google.

CAE Inc. (TSX:CAE). Aviation technologies. Down seven cents, or 0.69 per cent, at $10.10 on 351,688 shares. A division of CAE Inc. is paying US$130 million to acquire Medical Education Technologies, Inc., which supplies medical simulation technologies and educational software.

Afexa Life Sciences Inc. (TSX:FXA). Health sciences. Up one cent, or 1.79 per cent, at 57 cents on 215,484 shares. The company is reiterating its rejection of a hostile takeover bid by Montreal-based Paladin Labs Inc. The maker of the popular Cold-FX flu remedy says the unsolicited offer is financially inadequate and not in the company’s best interests.

Paladin (TSX:PLB). Pharmaceuticals. Up 39 cents, or 1.02 per cent, at $38.49 on 31,261 shares.

Teck Resources Ltd. (TSX:TCK.B). Up 96 cents, or 2.43 per cent, at $40.50 on 3,223,342 shares. Credit-rating agency DBRS upgraded Teck’s rating on Wednesday in recognition of the work the company has done to rebuild its balance sheet since its purchase of the Fording Canadian Coal Trust in 2008. DBRS upgraded Teck to BBB with a stable trend, up from BBB (low), to reflect what it called a “marked recovery” in the company’s financial position.
