RCMP are continuing to work with fire and insurance investigators to determine the exact cause of the blaze.
Emergency crews who were first on the scene said four houses were already engulfed in flames when they arrived and the fire was too big to stop.
The six families left homeless are staying with relatives, and efforts are underway to organize a relief fundraiser.
