WATCH ABOVE: Flash flood in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS, B.C. – The storm clouds forecast for the B.C. Interior arrived as predicted and released rain, hail and lightning on Kamloops, causing significant damage.
Residents used social media to send out photos of flash flooding, torrential rain and roads turned quickly into rivers.
Several roads were reportedly impassable due to deep, pooled water.
A Storm Warning was issued by Environment Canada for the South Thompson earlier in the day, while surrounding regions, including the Okanagan Valley remain under a Storm Watch for the same weather.
The Watch remains in effect until after midnight in the B.C. Interior, Columbia and Kootenay regions. Anywhere from 25-50 mm of rain could fall in a short amount of time.
