Traffic congestion has plagued the area since the closure of the condemned Exit 41 overpass in March 2011.
WATCH: The mayor of Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue discusses the new access road
STE-ANNE-DE-BELLEVUE – West Island motorists, rejoice.
By the end of August, a temporary access road will be opening on Highway 40 between the exit at Ste-Marie Rd. and Anciens Combattants Blvd.
“In 5 weeks people can roll directly from the 40 service road onto Exit 41,” said the mayor of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Paola Hawa.
The new temporary access road will cost about $40,000, but Hawa believes it’s worth it.
