The independent release debuted at number six on iTunes Canada Country Albums Chart, is nominated for the ‘Country Recording Of The Year’ at the 2014 Western Canadian Music awards, and most recently was nominated for ‘Album of the Year’ at the upcoming CCMA Awards in Edmonton this September.

Other nominees in the Album of the Year category are Dean Brody, Brett Kissel, Tim Hicks and Dallas Smith.

This makes Prevost the only independent artist to be nominated in this category, which is a huge honour for the Saskatchewan-born singer.

“I released this album back in March and it’s been an incredible journey so far,” said Prevost, who will be a new father come November.

“I got married last June, and that’s when we were recording this album as well as touring and it was just a crazy time of life, it came together and I’m really looking forward to September.”

Prevost is no stranger to success.

Earlier this year he received awards for ‘Entertainer of the Year’ and “Male Vocalist of the Year’ at the Saskatchewan Country Music Association awards, making it his sixth year running capturing both titles

On top of this, he took home the 2014 SCMA Achievement Award.

The CCMA Awards Show will be held at Rexall Place in Edmonton on Sept. 7.
