Forest fire smoke causes hazy skies in Manitoba

WINNIPEG – Smoke from forest fires in the Northwest Territories, British Columbia and Alberta is wafting as far as Manitoba.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for all of Manitoba shortly after noon on Thursday, advising that hazy skies are due to the smoke.

The smoky conditions are expected to stay overnight and into Friday, the weather agency said.
