Initially, investigators were looking into whether the cause might be electrical.
The fire started last Wednesday night – within hours of track officials announcing that the track would not be opening this season because of electrical issues.

Last week’s fire was the latest in a string of suspicious blazes in the Vernon area in recent months.
So far, police are not linking the racetrack fire to the other arsons, but say they’re not releasing any more details because it might compromise their investigation if the case goes to court.
