Saskatoon Valkyries capture 4th WWCFL championship

SASKATOON – For the fourth consecutive year, the Saskatoon Valkyries captured the Western Women’s Canadian Football League (WWCFL) championship.

It was the third year in a row the Valkyries trounced the Lethbridge Steel in the final.

On Saturday night, Saskatoon shut out Lethbridge 53-0 at Griffiths Stadium.

The Valkyries defeated the Regina Riot last month in the prairie conference final to advance to the championship.

The Riot were the first and still the only team to defeat Saskatoon.
