WINNIPEG – Mosquito fogging trucks are set to hit city streets Saturday night.
The city has released which neighbourhoods will be targeted first. The list can be found below.
Weather permitting, the malathion spraying trucks will be out from 9:30 p.m. until 6:30 a.m.
Residents who do not want their properties fogged by the insecticide can register for a buffer zone by emailing 311@winnipeg.ca, faxing 311, in person at 1539 Waverley St. or writing to the city’s insect control branch at 3 Grey St., Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1V2.
You need to provide proof of residence, such as a driver’s licence or a utility bill.

The city wide trap count average on Saturday was 160 mosquitoes. The highest trap count recorded 2624 mosquitoes in Assiniboine Park with the lowest count of eight in northeast Winnipeg just off Henderson Highway.
