On Saturday, police arrested 47-year-old Kishore Kevin Kapur. He is charged with three counts of counselling another person to commit kidnapping, assault and murder and three counts of uttering threats of bodily harm.
The intended victim was known to Kapur. The motive is believed to be a domestic situation; Kapur is said to have been involved in a relationship with the target’s now common-law wife. The intended victim told police he had sensed a rising amount of tension between himself and the accused but did not realize the severity of the situation.
Police are considering requesting a psychiatric assessment of Kapur.
Anyone else who may have been approached by Kapur with a request to kidnap and murder the intended victim is asked to come forward to police.
