CALGARY- A Cochrane community got an unexpectedly close wildlife encounter over the weekend, when a grizzly bear was spotted wandering through some properties.
The grizzly was seen on Saturday morning, and passed through a number of yards. It stopped at one home to eat out of a compost barrel, before heading west.
The province says officers have been over to check the traps, and continue to monitor the situation. There were multiple sightings reported, but it was not seen in the area on Monday.
