Highway 427 to close for ‘several hours’ after truck covers lanes with gravel

TORONTO – Highway 427 northbound near Highway 401 could be closed for several hours Friday after a full dump truck rolled over, spilling debris across the highway.

The accident happened at approximately 1 p.m. in the northbound express lanes of Highway 427.

Ministry of Transportation crews are bringing “sweepers” to the area to clean up the debris – mostly gravel and oil.

The Highway 427 southbound ramp and the Highway 401 eastbound ramp to Eglinton Avenue are both closed as a result of the accident.
