TORONTO — Scottish singer Paolo Nutini has confessed to being a pothead.
In a new interview, the 27-year-old admitted he has smoked marijuana “every day since I was about 16.”
Nutini told UK music magazine Q that it’s time society changed its attitude about cannabis.
“Can the world please get to grips with marijuana? How long can this go on?,” he asked.

“Don’t get me wrong, you can give it to the wrong person, marijuana can spawn all kinds of things, but no more so than alcohol.”
Nutini also told Q he was surprised by the reaction to a video showing members of One Direction smoking what appeared to be marijuana.
“They are men now,” he said. “One Direction can’t have a joint? They’re the bad role models? Come on.”
