Doug Horner

Elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in 2001, Doug Horner is currently the MLA for Spruce Grove – Sturgeon – St. Albert. In addition to his MLA duties, he is a member of the Standing Committee on Private Bills.

Horner has served as a Cabinet Minister in three Provincial Governments and under two Premiers. He held the position of Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development from 2004 to 2006. Horner also served as the Minister of Advanced Education and Technology from 2006 to 2011.

Along with his family, Horner also established Alberta’s first Oat and Barley milling operation, Westglen Milling Corp. in Manola Alberta.
