Woman killed near Laird, Sask. after ATV rollover

ROSTHERN, Sask. – A woman was killed after the ATV she was a passenger on rolled in the R.M. of Laird on Sunday evening.

RCMP say the ATV stalled when the driver was attempting to climb a steep hill along the North Saskatchewan River, causing the ATV to roll over backwards.

The 19-year-old woman from the Hague area was declared dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

The driver was not injured.

Police say the riders were not wearing helmets and alcohol was not a factor.
