KELOWNA– Some frightening moments for a young Okanagan woman as the truck she was driving burst into flames.
It happened on Glenmore Road during Monday’s dinner hour.
The woman was driving her boyfriend’s vehicle southbound on Glenmore.
She says the engine stalled and she pulled over.
That’s when the vehicle burst into flames.
The quick moving fire engulfed the Chevy truck and then spread to grass in the ditch.
Fire fighters managed to knock the flames down quickly.
It’s not clear what sparked the fire, however the truck appeared to have extensive aftermarket wiring.
The incident closed both lanes of southbound traffic on Glenmore for about half an hour.
