WHISTLER, B.C. – Dale MacKay, inaugural winner of TV’s “Top Chef Canada,” has been added to the lineup of this fall’s Cornucopia food and wine festival.
The Vancouver chef will present his competition-winning cuisine in “an intimate and exclusive 50-person luncheon,” a spokesperson said.
MacKay took the $100,000 prize on the Food Network Canada show when he defeated chefs from Toronto and Calgary in the season finale, which aired earlier this month.
The annual Whistler festival includes winemaker dinners, seminars and gala wine tastings from Nov. 10 to 13. Ottawa-based wine writer Natalie MacLean will host a tasting and launch her latest book, “Unquenchable: A Tipsy Search for the World’s Best Bargain Wines.”
