NEW WESTMINSTER – A New Westminster woman has been charged with three counts of assault, resulting from an incident on June 1, according to authorities. Melanie L. Campbell, 42,was arrested at the scene and is currently in custody.
At 4:29 p.m. on June 1, New Westminster Police received reports that a man had been stabbed. When they responded to the 500 block of Brantford Street they discovered the alleged victim covered in blood, with wounds to his head. He was taken to a local hospital where he received six stitches.
Campbell’s next court appearance is scheduled for tomorrow. Her charges include assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.
