Update: Pedestrian dies after being hit by car in Surrey

A pedestrian who was hit by a car yesterday afternoon in Surrey has died. According to the RCMP, the 52 year-old man was crossing 128 Street at the 8200 block, when he was struck by a black Acura. He was rushed to Royal Columbian Hospital with serious leg and head trauma, but couldn’t be resuscitated.

Mounties say the driver, a 17 year-old male, stayed on the scene and is cooperating with police, as are multiple witnesses. Surrey RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Team is investigating the accident.
