SASKATOON – Residents in Saskatoon’s Lakeview neighbourhood are feeling bewildered after being slapped with parking tickets out of the blue.
Kevin Hollman is one of those neighbours who parks perpendicular to the sidewalk on Wakaw Place.
He said he’s been parking in the same cul-de-sac, in the same way, for over a decade without any issues.
Last week, he and his neighbours were all given tickets.
Hollman said no one in the cul-de-sac seemed to be parked illegally.

“I swear, if you go to every block in this city, people are parked like this in front of their cul-de-sacs,” said Hollman.
He wishes the city did a better job of communicating its reason for fines.
“They could’ve come in and talked to us and explained…you can’t park in front of your house,” said Hollman.
Global News contacted the City of Saskatoon, which said in situations like this one, they’re often complaint-driven. The city did not confirm whether this was the case in this instance.
The city does not patrol residential areas for parking infractions.
