NDP candidate Teresa Armstrong was elected in 2011, defeating incumbent Liberal MPP Khalil Ramal by more than 4,000 votes, with PC candidate Cheryl Miller in a strong third. Ramal had held the riding since 2003, when he defeated NDP candidate Irene Mathyssen and PC MPP Frank Mazzilli.

By the numbers

Of the three London ridings, London-Fanshawe has the lowest median age (37.6), the largest average household size (2.6), and the smallest percentage of homes with just one person (22.4 per cent).
