TORONTO – Tim Hudak’s Conservatives have opened up a clear lead in the ongoing Ontario election according to an aggregate of polls conducted between May 2 and May 9 surveying a total of 3,000 people.

The seat projection constructed by the Laurier Institute for the Study of Public Opinion and Policy  suggests current polls have the Conservatives picking up 47 seats, seven shy of a majority.

The analysis suggests the Liberals will pick up 39 seats and the NDP will come third with 21.

But the Conservatives, according to the data, are still without a seat in Toronto and with only four in the vote-rich GTA.
