Pedestrian struck on Hwy 1 in Abbotsford expected to live

VANCOUVER – A female pedestrian struck by a commercial vehicle on Tuesday afternoon is expected to live.

Police say the 48-year-old woman has numerous broken bones after she was hit at about 3 p.m. on Highway 1 in Abbotsford.

The RCMP Fraser Valley Traffic Services, Abbotsford Police Department, ICARS, CVSE and the BC ambulance service all attended and eastbound traffic was diverted on to Exit 90 through Abbtosford for about three-and-a-half hours.

Speed and alcohol are not suspected factors in this incident.
