UPDATE: Death in Beaumont fire deemed non-criminal

EDMONTON – The RCMP has determined that the house fire in Beaumont Monday morning that resulted in the death of a man was not criminal.

The RCMP was called to the scene by the fire department around 7 a.m.

An autopsy was done on Tuesday, and the man has been identified as 54-year-old Daniel Dumont, of Beaumont.

The cause of his death is not being released, but police are not treating it as a homicide.

The RCMP continue to investigate the house fire.
