VANCOUVER – After the Vancouver Canucks lost to the Boston Bruins in Game 7, some people that were downtown started rioting, starting fires, flipping cars, and breaking store windows and causing general chaos.
An overturned car went up in flames in front of the Canada Post building, Canucks fans were burning their jerseys in the streets, and several cars were set on fire and destroyed.
Vancouver Police Department have put out a call for people with photos and videos of the incidents to hang on to them so they can be used to try and identify people later, and at least two Facebook pages and a Tumblr page has been set up to do just that.
One Facebook page is called Vancouver Riot Pics: Post Your Photos, and another is called Report Canucks RIOT Morons.
The first group already has almost 10,000 people and both are growing rapidly.
Another page has also been set up on Tumblr called Vancouver 2011 Riot Criminal List.
A Facebook event has also been set up to invite people to come out on Thursday morning and help clean up the City. At this time, more than 2,000 people have confirmed they are attending the event.
