Happy Easter

April 17, 2014 I always enjoy talking to Ralph Molyneux and Kelly Stickel from the Victory Church. They’re very spiritual men who are dedicated to bringing the Gospel to everyone. While their message will always be the same, the way they deliver it will vary. Like this weekend they’re including the Hibikaya Taiko Drummers to the their Easter Sunday service. At the very least that will keep you awake for the whole time.

Jackie Stambene reminds us of the annual MS walk and run that goes May 3 down at Fort Whoop Up. It’s their major fundraiser of the year and they’re still looking for participants. This year for those who like to compete, you will be timed. For those who just want to walk and enjoy the coulees, ignore the time and take a moment to smell the cactus.

Westminster School has been fundraising for a quite some time to build a new playground. I say it everytime I hear how expensive they are to build: I need to get in the business of selling playgrounds. This particular design is going to cost just over $300,000. The good news is that they’re just about there. Next Wednesday at 4pm at the Movie Mill you can take the kids to see the movie “Hop.” As the poster says it’s a movie about “Candy, chicks & rock & roll.” Apparently the son of the Easter Bunny wants to be a rock drummer. It’s from the makers of Despicable Me and looks pretty funny. Dress up in your fav Easter costume. Proceeds go to the Westminster Playground.

And still with Easter, the Galt Museum has their annual Eggstravaganza on Saturday. There’ll be lots to do for the whole family. The Easter Bunny is actually going to be there. And looking at the weather forecast, he can actually take off his touque.
