Regina Pats hire new Director of Scouting

The Regina Pats have hired Dale McMullin to be their Director of Scouting.

McMullin spent the past nine seasons with the Red Deer Rebels, most recently as Senior Scout. Among the players he helped identify as prospects are Brandon Sutter, Landon Ferraro and 2011 NHL Entry Draft first overall pick Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.

McMullin replaces Todd Riplinger, whose contract was not renewed by the Pats after this past season.

The Regina Pats have missed the playoffs for three straight seasons, finishing 10th in the Eastern Conference this past year with a record of 23-39-7-3.

The team is still in the process of replacing head coach Curtis Hunt, who was let go in mid-June.
