These are better days for Master Ninja.
The one year old feline has been in foster care for a while, recovering from surgery.
He was brought to the Edmonton Humane Society as a stray from a clinic in St. Albert.
"Someone brought him to them and we’re not quite sure what happened to him, but he came into their care with a severely broken back leg, including a crushed pelvis." said Edmonton Humane Society spokesperson Shawna Randolph.
Master Ninja went into immediate care and was booked for surgery, with vets hoping to salvage his leg.
A special fund at the Humane Society called the sick and injured animal fund that people donate to made the surgery possible.
"We are only able to put him up for adoption thanks to the generosity of people donating to that fund and helping our surgeons be able to perform this or else his leg would have been amputated." Randolph said.
Now, Master Ninja is one of 150 adult cats that the Humane Society is asking Edmontonians to adopt this weekend to make room for hundreds more that are in need of care.
There are no adoption fees for any adult cat during the adoption event, which begins at noon on Sunday and runs until 6:00 pm at the Edmonton Humane Society.
