David and Victoria Beckham have named their new baby girl Harper Seven. And while their baby-naming track record suggested the new addition would be christened something a little closer to Moon Unit than Mary Jane, there’s still been some healthy (tabloid) curiosity about what inspired a Harper Seven.
Could the child be part robot? Or perhaps the Beckhams are unusually fond of Canadian politicians and some bureaucrat accidentally dropped a "t" from "Seven" while filling out the birth certificate?
People magazine says it has the answer. According to the mag, Harper is simply an "old English name that Victoria has always loved."
As for the middle name Seven, that would seem to have multiple meanings (though, unfortunately, four reasons short of seven): People reports the Beckhams chose the name because the number is a "very lucky spiritual number" – and their daughter happened to be born on the seventh hour of the day, on the seventh day of the week, in the seventh month.
Seven would also be the number her soccer-superstar dad played under when he was with Manchester United.
Harper Seven is the fourth child for the Beckhams. They have three young boys: Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, 8 and Cruz, 6.
