METRO VANCOUVER – North Vancouver RCMP have confirmed the discovery of a body of an unidentified female in the Lynn Canyon area.
Cpl. Richard De Jong said hikers came upon the body floating in Lynn river near Twin Falls on Wednesday at around 9 p.m.
RCMP officers, fire services and a search and rescue team located and recovered the body further downstream about an hour after the hikers spotted it.
Investigators are still in the early stages of trying to figure out what happened, the officer said.
He said an autopsy may be performed after the body is identified and next of kin are notified.
